The purpose of this Request for Qualifications is to:

·Invite outside legal counsel, throughout the Province of BC, who have an interest in providing legal services on behalf of the Ministry of Attorney General to the Ministry of Children and Family Development. The legal services described in this RFQ are required for representation of youth who have been charged with an offence and are subject to a proceeding in Provincial Court under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Canada) (YCJA); the Youth Justice Act (YJA); the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC); or the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and who are in the care or custody of a Director [a certain statutory actor that may be designated under the Child, Family and Community Service Act (CFCSA)]; and

·Provide information that can be used to establish a Pre-Qualified List of such outside legal counsel that have the experience and knowledge as more fully described herein. All legal services in respect of any Contract or Appointment would be done at the request, and under the direction of Legal Services Branch (LSB).
