The Library at the National University of Ireland Galway wishes to procure equipment suitable for the digitisation of historic and archival manu material. The scope of material includes bound volumes, unbound loose material, and oversized books which may include newspapers and serials, photographs, letters, old and fragile hand-coloured material including maps, printed maps on paper, posters, and assorted manu material. The equipment SHOULD consist of a camera or scanner that can be used to digitise up to A0 sized material. It SHOULD include the option, and accessories necessary, for both flatbed and book cradle use. Digitisation speed, automation, and quality control are key evaluation areas.
