Cheshire West and Chester Council wish to enter into a 3-year contract (with an option to extend 1 + 1 years) with a preferred supplier for the maintenance and repair of its public space Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) system.

The current system comprises a combination of approximately 300 cameras of both Pan Tilt Zoom (PTZ) and fixed cameras installed across the Borough of Cheshire West and Chester. Images are relayed back to a CCTV control centre 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Council staff view live and recorded images at the control centre.

The system is used to help deter and detect crime, to reduce the fear of crime and to improve public safety. The CCTV team works with the Council’s enforcement staff, in partnership with Cheshire Police and with other enforcement agencies. The CCTV system is used to produce evidential material for court in both civil and criminal proceedings.
